Re-run after the sweep. The 2-line count moved from 199 to 197 because the resolved words changed the wrapping, which is why proofs are re-run, not reused.

Fourteen sub-second gaps were read on both sides. Thirteen are pauses inside complete sentences; the fourteenth is below.

What each engine dropped and recovered

The text engine lost two windows; the skeleton lost none.

SpanMissing fromCovered by

28:38.6 to 28:42.2 (3.5 s)both Whisper passesParakeet: “plant population counts to make sure our data was correct”

Two Whisper passes of one recording dropped different windows, so neither alone covers the talk. WhisperKit block 94 is out of order and repeats block 92; excluded.

One recovered word placed by judgment. The largest gap, 0.98 s at 18:19.78, spans an incomplete sentence: “set you guys up for a little better” then “confident in expecting those flower head sizes.” The GUI export carries “situation” there; placed at the end of block 235.

Two overlapping backchannels, 29:57.25 and 30:14.33, sit inside skeleton blocks belonging to the other speaker. Blocks are not split, so they are absent.

Judgment calls on content words

Seven of eight went to the skeleton engine, matching segment 02.

Corrections applied

150 of 402 blocks changed.

Names. Baumgarner and Bungarner to Bumgarner (10). Gabriela Torah to Gabrielle LaTora (344). UT Extensions to UT Extension’s (6).

Crops and cultivars. Ten ASR renderings of celosia, from salosha to Selocious, normalised. Karoom and caroom to Kurume after the sweep. Xenia, Zenia and Zinhas to zinnia. zenderillas to Zinderellas. binary giants and Binari to Benary’s Giants. queenies to Queenys, queenie lime orange to Queeny Lime Orange. flamingo feather to Flamingo Feather, pompous plume to Pampas Plume, Sunday greens and oranges to Sunday Greens and Sunday Oranges. gonfrena to gomphrena. cox comb to coxcomb.

Technical. “a 2010 twin 2010 20 soluble fertilizer” to “a 20-10-20 soluble fertilizer” (96, 97). decitron to Dosatron, the injector brand (97). STEM to stem counts (135). phyto-toxic to phytotoxic, turf grass to turfgrass, flowerhead to flower head, cut flour to cut flower six times.

Grammar and readability. Parakeet’s terminal period removed wherever the sentence continues into the next block, again the largest single category. Nine doubled words and five false starts removed, with the fillers “um” and “uh”. gonna to going to and wanna to want to, following the text engine. Hyphenation standardised on six-inch, nine-inch, four-inch and three-inch before a noun.

Left as spoken. “y’all”; “per square foot” at 87 where “per thousand square foot” is expected; “growing for themselves” at 279 and “Agaves” at 101, both confirmed on the recording; “burnt fabrics” at 196, which this context supports as trade usage for pre-burned landscape fabric, so the hub’s verify row stays open pending audio.

Speaker labels

Parakeet’s four diarization labels map to five people: the GUI voice library splits the recorded introduction.

Source labelPersonBlocks
Speaker 1Bethany Harris1
Speaker 1Whitney Ottinger9
Speaker 2Natalie Bumgarner127
Speaker 3Celeste Scott250
Speaker 4Gabrielle LaTora15

All fifteen turn boundaries were read on both sides. Two were wrong and moved.

  • Block 341, “So Bethany, I’ll turn it back over to you,” is Parakeet’s Speaker 4. It is Natalie handing back; Gabrielle opens at 342. Reassigned.
  • Blocks 368 and 369, “Okay. One more question if you want to,” are Gabrielle in the GUI export and Celeste in Parakeet. Kept with Celeste: Gabrielle’s next line, “Thank you, Celeste. We’ve got one more question in the chat,” would otherwise restate her own announcement.

The GUI export lagged the boundary at blocks 21, 48, 260 and 342, and gave 402 to Celeste when it is the moderator. Lag is 3 for 3.

No block mixes speakers, third segment running, because the Parakeet skeleton is fine enough that turns land on block edges.

Audio sweep, closed same day

Seven markers were raised at merge and all seven closed against the recording the same day, before any derived file existed. Zero markers remain. Worksheet and results are in GTBOP_AudioSweep_CutFlowerSymposium.md, sweep 2.

BlockTimeRaised asResolved to
1017:37agave'sAgaves, confirmed as spoken. A zinnia with a cactus flower form

25019:22m thethe And More, the title of the slide shown
27921:45growinggrowing, confirmed
33926:03let'sCeleste

Four markers were suspect agreements and two of those were wrong. school and let's corrected, agave's and growing confirmed. That is the case for flagging an agreed token that does not read, and for keeping the count low: half come back unchanged. Kurume was raised at two timecodes, so one flag bought two independent passes.

Totals

157 blocks edited across the merge and the sweep, 0 open flags, 8 judgment calls, 2 boundaries moved, 1 recovered word placed. Format compliance is asserted by the srt_hygiene.py output above. The 197 blocks over 2 lines need the caption-editor pass, since they cannot be reduced without splitting blocks.
